Before the NYB, free-cooling operation could only be achieved by adding additional modules (drycoolers) containing only coils and associated fans. The addition of these dry coolers would result in doubling of the total number of modules, connections, fans, and footprint of each assembled chiller. Each NYB module features its own integrated free cooling coils. Finally, the energy savings benefits of free cooling operation can be fully realized on every modular chiller project. 

SOLVES A UNIQUE NYC PROBLEM

The Aermec NYB chiller was designed to meet the requirements for buildings seeking exemption from the New York City stationary operating engineer law. Each 30 ton module utilizes two fully independent refrigeration circuits with compressor ratings less than 15 horsepower each, as required for the exemption.  

EFFICIENT & ECOLOGICAL

The NYB is the only chiller with integrated free cooling coils that is AHRI certified to meet ASHRAE 90.1-2010 minimum efficiency levels.  The microchannel condensers allow a 40% lower charge of zero ODP R410A refrigerant. A free source of hot water is available using the desuperheater option.

Victaulic connections between the onboard headers allow for quick and easy installation.  With numerous voltage options and a standard ambient operating range of -20 to 115 degrees, the NYB can be applied to nearly any application.  

QUICK AND EASY SERVICING

The NYB is completely accessible from the ends of the unit.  This allows in-row servicing of a module without interruption to adjacent modules.  Each unit is fitted with isolation valves on the chilled water and the refrigeration circuits for ease of service.  Condenser coil filters keep coils clean and operating efficiently.
